Employment circumstances determine the route
Leave and benefits depend on employment category and the particular scheme. Start with INPS guidance for parents and explain your current or past employment and family circumstances to the service. Parenthood alone does not qualify you for every benefit.
Municipal maternity allowance
This separate allowance is granted by the municipality and paid by INPS. Check requirements, ISEE, accepted residence status and the deadline with the municipality. Do not assume it can automatically be combined with other benefits.
